Cast (in order of appearance)

Gaffy

Gaffy

Gaffy is an evil witch that turned herself into a small, cat-like creature with wings...or that's what she tells everyone...it's unknown if it's true or not. She's aggressive, violent, and alert, but when it comes to an actual confrontation that may involve physical fighting, she becomes a coward and usually flees with the assistance of one of her magic potions. she travels around The Oldlands in her wagon home towed by her evil minion Dragon, the dragon. Both claim to be the ultimate evil and they strive to pillage and steal, but in all reality, they are complete failures at crime. They are wanted for stealing a single diamond from the king, though the king could care less. However, his over protective knight, Cedric, wants to take them both into custody.

Dragon

Dragon

Dragon is a chubby, flightless red dragon, born and raised in the Oldlands. He's the typical "fairy tale" dragon with a bulky build, tiny wings, and breaths fire...only he is terrified of almost everything including his own shadow! He was rescued by Gaffy and is now her loyal 'evil' minion; well he tries to be. He's so strong that he can easily tow Gaffy's carriage home where it is much larger on the inside than it is outside....making it unusually heavy. Gaffy is the most wicked of the two, but she lets Dragon sleep inside by the fireplace to ease his fear of the dark! He behaves like a dog at times (digging around, scratching himself, and getting a belly scratching from people who pass by), but he also behaves like a human often sneaking a cup of tea from Gaffy's storage and engaging in conversations with humans...not something a typical Oldland dragon would do. He's dimwitted, clumsy, and loud, but he is a gentle giant and wouldn't hurt a butterfly, but that's just because he's afraid of them!

Hero

Hero

Hero is the main protagonist and the being that the ancient legends of the Oldlands revolve around. Despite being a "newborn" he appears as a 17 year-old boy. He is a gentle and kind person who doesn't judge people or other things by the way they look. He sees beauty or potential for greatness in all things and he act's almost child like (due to the fact he's new to the world). He confuses the two villains, Gaffy and Dragon, as his guides and follows them everywhere...doing what he is told. He also confuses Gaffy's statement "You're the Legendary Hero" and thinks Hero is his name...Gaffy Sticks with it for the lack of her concern about it. Hero has a split personality; one being gentle and kind, the other: a more god-like, but violent being. This half of Hero typically appears when he's under violent stress, filled with rage or needing to access his amazing powers. He can be twisted and play or mock his foes. Hero retains memory of his violent actions, but doesn't seem s concerned about it. His violent moments only last a short time and he typically snaps out of it by himself.

Bruce

Bruce

Bruce is Sir. Cedric's horse. Not much is known about Bruce, but he seems to be vastly more intelligent than all the other horses...and some say he is smarter than most people. He is strong, fast and abnormally loyal to his rider...never leaving his side and guards his house like a guard dog...chasing away unwanted guests! He hates everyone except his rider, but has a strong interest in Hero and follows him around spying on him. He's not afraid to get into a fight, but flees when beaten. Gaffy has taken a strong interest in the horse thinking that she has seen him before she came to the Oldlands. Bruce also has a interest in her, but it's mostly because he wants to kill her...for an unknown reason.

Sir. Cedric

Sir. Cedric

Sir. Cedric is the most powerful knight in the Oldlands. He's brave, strong and skilled with a sword. He has only one good eye (the other lost to a past brawl) and has multiple scars on his body. He is overprotective of the king and wants Gaffy's head for stealing a single diamond from him despite the King telling him to leave her alone. His past is repetitively unknown, but he claims to have traveled from a kingdom that was destroyed by the terrible dragon, Skull. He also claims to be the only survivor of the dragon's attacks. He has a strong dislike of Hero and wants revenge for defeating him.

Sir.

Zafar

A dark beast known as a sharkface. Very little is known about him, but he seems to know a lot about everything and everyone else. He has control over the element of fire and can disguise himself as practically anything. He and Gaffy seem to share a past that has somehow turned sour and they were both trying to avoid each other. After confronting him, Gaffy learns that he is there to aid in the demise of both her and Hero giving her the chilling final words "Fear only the Dragon". He's an reappearing ominous presence in the comic though he is rarely seen outside of a disguise. He has used his disguises to fool everyone. It is unknown if his rider (when disguised as a horse) Cedric, knows of his true identity.

Sir. Sadon

Sir. Sadon

One of the many knights that patrol on top of the massive wall that surrounds the kingdom. He's a skilled archer and swordsman that doesn't take any foolishness. When off duty, he's a very friendly man who is honest about everything. He's Hero's first friend within the castle walls and he becomes a great source of information. Sir Sadon works under Sir Cedric, the highest ranking knight in the kingdom, but he has his doubts about his actions...he chooses to keep his opinions a secret. He has a strong dislike of Cedric's horse, Bruce...thinking he's too nosy and aggressive. He's known to have a talent for being an animal whisperer and he's an expert dragon trainer. One of his mounts is a shape-shifting dragoness named Zita who he rides just about everywhere. Typically, Zita disguises herself as a black horse or a dog and is the only "Knights' dragon". Sir Sadon has a daughter who wants to be like her father, but being only eight years old, she just helps him around the castle grounds.

King Hadrian

King Hadrian

King of the Northern Oldland Castle and ruler of the only remaining kingdom in the Oldlands, King Hadrian is a great leader and brave warrior. Obsessed with the old legends, he welcomes Hero with open arms and sends him off to find his beloved daughter, Hanna. He's determined to stick with old traditions and fears the fact that Hannah is too much like Hero to follow through with ruling the kingdom someday. He is a lover of dragons, but would kill Skull if given the chance.

Skull

Skull

Only seen in flashbacks throughout the beginning and middle of the story, Skull remains a mysterious and looming danger. He's a massive, "castle sized" dragon that was used by King Peter to steal gold from his bothers' neighboring Oldland kingdoms. Upon discovering his schemes, they stole the gold back only to be murdered by the enraged Skull. For years, Skull made it his mission to steal the gold he thinks is rightfully his back from the only remaining kingdom. He currently has the King's daughter, Princess Hanna, in his clutches and an untold amount of gold and other valuables.

Important places/things(in order of appearance)

Seal

The Great Oldland Seal

This simple combination of shapes plays a rather significant role it the story. Though the symbol is shown to have many origins, it is unclear where the symbol originated. It was once shown that the great kingdoms of the Oldlands once formed a triangular pattern in the land and it united them as a whole (circle). Peace lasted until a war broke out and divided two of the kingdoms (the line in the middle). The symbol is sometimes shown with the Creator coiled around it and three different colored gemstones on each corner of the triangle and one darker gem hanging from his jaws. Other times the symbol is shown as a circle and triangle; symbolizing peace.

Gaffy's House

Gaffy's House

Though Gaffy's house isn't a character, it acts as a sort of "secret hide-out" for Hero and the gang. On the outside it resembles a shabby, worn down hut with wheels and over hanging lantern. On the inside, however, it's five stories tall, wide open and contains an unknown number of rooms and hallways. Each room is larger on the inside than what it appears to be on the outside. Gaffy's bedroom is actually larger than the entire house on the inside; an impossibility made a reality by her strong magic. The house is constantly changing and some rooms may relocate, change size or totally vanish without warning, a frustrating "flaw" in it's design; thankfully it does this with empty rooms! It's powered by a large crystal ball that contains an untold amount of magic. It was supposedly created by Gaffy when she first arrived in the Oldlands. It's a fact she built the house, but the origins of the crystal ball are unclear. Despite being so powerful, the house is prone to hazards such as pot holes that can break it's already badly damaged wheels, attacks from forest beasts, and fire. The house is towed by Dragon who acts as Gaffy's draft animal and evil minion. With just the two of them and Hero living inside it, it's a wonder why she needs so much space.
